I read this book "UNCLE ELEPHANT". A little elephant visits his Uncle Elephant, who makes wishes come true, tells amazing stories, and even trumpets the dawn!
A little elephant lived with little elephant's Mother and Father. One day, little elephant's Mother and Father went for a sail in their boat. A little elephant could not go with them, so little elephant had a runny trunk and a sore throat. There was a storm. The did not come back, and Mother and Father were missing at sea. A little elephant was alone. At there, Uncle Elephant came and said to little elephant, "Come and visit me."
A little elephant sat with Uncle Elephant on the train. They looked out of the window with sharing a bag of peanuts. The country rushed past. On the train, Uncle Elephant was trying to count the houses, the fields, and the telephone poles as they go by. But they was difficult to do, so everything was passing too darn fast. Uncle Elephant began to try counting again. They was easier to do, so Uncle Elephant counted the peanut shells.
They came to Uncle Elephant's house. Uncle Elephant took a lamp from the shelf and lit it to have supper. Then, "Hey there!" said a small voice from inside the lamp. A little elephant thought the lamp could talk, and it was a magic lamp. They made wishes. A little elephant wished for an airplane, and for a banana split with ten scoops of ice cream. Uncle Elephant wished for a polka-dot suit with striped pants, and for a box filled with one hundred big cigars. They rubbed the lamp, sat and waited. Then, a little spider crawled out and said, "I wish that you would turn off this lamp and leave me in place. I live in there. It is getting hot." Uncle Elephant made the spider's wish come true. He was happy to turn off the lamp. Uncle Elephant put the lamp back on the shelf, and they ate their supper by the light of the moon.
"VOOMAROOOM!" A little elephant heard a noise outside in the morning. It was a noise that Uncle Elephant trumpeted. Uncle Elephant always welcomed the dawn this way, and every new day deserved a good, loud trumpet. Uncle Elephant said to little elephant, "I have planted all these flowers myself. Come outside and let me introduce you to everyone. Roses, daisies, daffodils and marigolds, I want you to meet my nephew. This garden is my favorite place in the world. It is my own kingdom." A little elephant said to Uncle Elephant, "If this is your kingdom, are you a king? If you are the king, I must be the prince." They made theirselves crowns of flowers, and they were the king and the prince, and they were trumpeting the dawn.
When Uncle Elephant and little elephant went for a walk, Uncle Elephant's some body creaked. They walked slowly home, and Uncle Elephant rested his head on the back of the chair. Uncle Elephant told little elephant a story......
Once there was a King and a Prince. The Prince was brave, and he was young and smart. The King was old, and he had many wrinkles. They lived in a castle at the edge of a woods. One day the King and the Prince went for a walk. They became lost in the woods. They wandered in circles for hour, and they could not find their castle. A lion jumped out at them. They both trumpeted as loudly as they could. The lion was so afraid that every one of his teeth popped out, and he ran away. The Prince tried to look over the tops of the trees to lift up on the King's head. The Prince could see the tower of their castle. And that, was how the King and the Prince helped each other to find their way home.
......Uncle Elephant had ended his story.
There was a picture in Uncle Elephant's living room. The picture was Uncle Elephant was with his mother and father when Uncle Elephant was little elephant's age. A little elephant looked the picture, and he felt sad, and he began to cry. Uncle Elephant began to find some funny clothes, so he would make them smile. In a while, he came out from his closet. He was wearing all of his hats, all of his ties, all of his shirts, all of his pants, and all of his jackets. He was wearing everything on top of everything. Uncle Elephant and little elephant both laughed so hard, they forgot to feel sad.
One day, a telegram came to Uncle Elephant's house. It was from little elephant's mother and father! They had been found and rescued, and they were alive! Uncle Elephant and little elephant danced for joy. They went to little elephant's home at once. They sat on the train, and they looked out of the window. Uncle Elephant was counting something. It was not the houses, the fields, and the telephone poles. It was the days, Uncle Elephant and little elephant spent together. A little elephant could meet his mother and father. That night, Uncle Elephant and little elephant promised to see each other often.
