I read this book "Starfish."

Starfish has 5 arms or more than. Starfish moves freely by these arms. Starfish has a mouth on the center of the belly. Starfish is predatory animal, and eats the shells and the dead fishes and so on. When Starfish lost the part of the arm by removal, Starfish reclaims.

I examined about the kinds of the Starfish. There are Certonardoa semiregularis, Asterina pectinifera, Acanthaster planci, Astropecpten polyacanthus, Luidia quinaria, Luidia maculata, Plazaster borealis, Asterias amurensis, Coscinasterias, acutispina, Crossaster papposus, Ophioplocus japonicus, and so on.

At Amakusa Island in Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan, there is the eating custom to boil the starfish by salt, and eat the eggs. The taste is plain like a soybean paste of the urchin, and a little bitter.
